In addition to his association with Monarch Financial, Mr. Schneyer is founder and President of Mercantile Resource Finance, based in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Schneyer has more than 20 years experience in banking, project and trade finance, and resource development. Mr. Schneyer's general focus is to provide investment advisory services to the natural resource sector and is a specialist in non-recourse project finance of precious metal projects. He has acted as financial and strategic planning advisor to a number of VSE, TSE, and hedge fund operatives with operations throughout the Americas and Africa. Advice includes analysis utilizing risk-adjusted return methodology: NPV's, DCFROR's, payback, option pricing modeling, probabilities and sensitivities, before tax and after-tax analysis, project leveraging, and debt capacities.
Previously, he was Senior Partner Mining Finance, Muzinich SG, Inc., in New York City, engaged in raising funds for junior mining companies and mining funds management for European institutional investors.
Prior to investment banking, from 1992 to 1995, Mr. Schneyer was Manager of Derivative Finance Americas, Barclays Bank PLC in New York. In this role, he was Barclay's point person on "asset" valuations integrating option pricing, discounted cash flow, and credit modeling to identify, develop, and structure complex commercial transactions. He provided confidential advice to a number of the Bank's private clients with regard to strategic investment alternatives and derivative-hedging products to underpin loans and/or lock in minimum returns on capital and supervised and interfaced with 10 futures and options traders.
Previously he was Senior Analyst - New Business and Strategic Planning Group, and Metals Analyst - Aluminum and Copper Trading, at Shell Mining/Billiton Metals in New York. Other work includes petroleum analysis for the oil and gas subsidiaries of International Paper and Goodyear Rubber & Tire, and geologic work for the US Geological Survey and Anaconda Copper Company. Mr. Schneyer holds an AB in Geology from Colgate University with High Honors, an MA in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines. He is on the Board of Directors of Globex Mining Enterprises Inc. (Toronto), Rupert Resources Ltd. (Vancouver), and Tamarack Investment Company (Private).
